Description
A beautifully crafted proper German Hohner accordion which really does compare so well against more recently made equivalents. It was probably made in the 1960s and would have been a top quality make sold via Bells in Surbiton but I bought this in 1984 from a farmer who almost never played it but had just had it fully serviced. I was going abroad for a year and this was meant as a practice accordion I could travel with. However, I have kept it ever since, as a home practice one and, if necessary, a back up accordion. However, I've never gigged it and I am using it less and less, so now is the time to make a little space in the house.
It's 48 bass, two registers - single reed and vibrato, (but three couplers - two repeat) and it all plays very smoothly. It comes with the original hard case which you can see in the photos. You can watch a short clip on YouTube to see it in action, but also if you look at the photo of the keyboard, you can see just how well it is made, and how well it has held up - it actually plays better than a recent new accordion I tried. These models are very popular now, especially in such good condition, and when I visited Venice it was the model of choice for busking musicians, as it is surprisingly powerful, sensitive to play and very light too.
The price is £350 and I do not want to post it out - I much prefer someone coming to view it and inspect it properly, and only buying if they are fully satisfied. Feel free to contact me with any sensible questions and if you want to leave a phone number, I'll give you a call as soon as I can.
