What qualifications should a massage therapist in London have?

When seeking massage services in London, ensure the therapist is qualified and insured. Look for certifications from recognised bodies, such as the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA) or the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). Checking their credentials helps ensure they are properly trained and adhere to professional standards.

What should I expect during an outcall massage appointment?

An outcall massage involves the therapist travelling to your location. Discuss the setup beforehand, ensuring a suitable space is available for the massage table and the therapist to work comfortably. Confirm the therapist provides all necessary equipment, such as massage oils, towels, and music. Also, clarify hygiene practices and COVID-19 safety measures.

How can I ensure the massage service is professional and ethical?

Prior to booking, read reviews and testimonials of the massage therapist. A reputable therapist will have a clear code of conduct and maintain professional boundaries. If anything makes you feel uncomfortable during the session, you have the right to stop the massage immediately.

What are the legal requirements for massage businesses operating in London?

Massage businesses in London may require specific licenses from the local council. Check with the therapist if they have the necessary permits to operate legally. This ensures they comply with health and safety regulations.

What questions should I ask a massage therapist before booking an appointment?

Before booking, ask about the therapist's experience, the type of massage they offer, and their cancellation policy. Discuss any health conditions or concerns you have to ensure the massage is safe and appropriate for you. Also, clarify the total cost of the service, including any travel fees for outcall appointments.
