Audi's A series are saloon and estate cars while the Q series are SUVs, with key differences in ground clearance and body style. In the UK market, popular A series models include the A3 Sportback, A4 Saloon and A6 Avant, while the Q series features best-sellers like the Q3, Q5 and fully-electric Q8 e-tron. The A8 and A8L are luxury saloons primarily aimed at executive buyers, whereas all Q models benefit from Audi's legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system (standard on most UK Q models). Ground clearance is noticeably higher across the Q range - for example, the Q5 offers 200mm compared to the A4's 118mm, making it better suited for UK country roads. The naming convention reflects this distinction: 'A' for traditional Audi cars, 'Q' (from quattro) for SUVs with enhanced traction - particularly valuable in British weather conditions.
