50To activate the wing mirror heating in a BMW 3 Series, first ensure your vehicle has this feature (standard on most UK models) and that the ignition is on. Then press the wing mirror heating button, typically located near the mirror adjustment controls.
Most modern BMW 3 Series models (including the 320i, 330e and M340i) feature heated wing mirrors that automatically activate below 15°C or can be manually controlled. The heated mirrors are particularly useful during UK winters to clear frost, condensation and rain.
For exact button location:
- G20 generation (2019-present): Look near the driver's side door controls
- F30 generation (2012-2019): Button is on the mirror adjustment panel
- Older models may have a separate defrost button
Note that the heating function will automatically turn off after approximately 15 minutes to prevent battery drain. If your mirrors aren't clearing properly, check for damaged heating elements - this is covered under BMW's 3-year warranty for UK models.
