To replace the cabin air filter in a Mazda CX-5, open the glovebox, remove the side clips, and access the filter housing behind it. The Mazda CX-5, a popular compact SUV in the UK with dimensions of 4555mm (L) x 1840mm (W) x 1710mm (H), uses a standard cabin air filter that should be replaced every 12-24 months depending on driving conditions.

  1. Open the front passenger glovebox and lift the plastic hook on the right side
  2. Press both sides of the glovebox and pull outward to remove the glovebox housing
  3. Locate the filter compartment behind the glovebox and release the plastic clips on either side
  4. Remove the old filter (note the airflow direction arrow) and insert the new one
  5. Reassemble the glovebox in reverse order

Common UK replacement filters include the Mann Filter CU 22018 or Bosch 1 987 949 651. The CX-5's cabin air filter helps remove pollen, dust and pollutants - particularly important for UK drivers dealing with urban pollution or seasonal allergies. For optimal performance, consider replacing it before the UK pollen season (typically March-September).
