Karen F Shutt LTCLper, BA (HONS), PGCE< FISM
I have been teaching and performing for over 40 years. So I have much experience in my profession. I have Registered Private Teacher Status with the Incorporated Society Of Musicians. I also have a DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
I am thorough with my teaching, giving pupils training in technique together with teaching them how to relax with the correct posture at the Piano. I have a wide intake of adult pupils as well as children. Entry into exams is encouraged and advised but never urged. I aid my pupils to develop a varied repertoire of pieces through their guided choice. All music is purchased through me. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I have a good friendly relationship with all my pupils. I invite all to visit for a free consultation before taking up the lessons .
For younger pupils I offer opportunities for them to perform in concerts and festivals. I have developed my own reward system for children.
I am the Entries Coordinator and Official Accompanist for Newcastle Festival. I am a performer as well as teacher and perform for weddings and events.
I have accompanied and conducted local choirs and I am a Cocktail Pianist. I have played regularly at Bella Italia in Crewe.
For weddings, I have a wide repertoire from Classical, Jazz to current Pop styles. I am able to accommodate the music of your choice for the wedding service, reception and wedding breakfast. I am self contained with my own electric Piano and sound system. I can also offer my singing of Pop ballads.

Karen Shutt was a true entertainer and was booked for a 100th year Birthday Party for residents,family and friends of Foregate Court Stafford. From start to finish which included an encore. Karen was professional with playing of music and singer which was well received by the guests which included many VIPs such as MP Leigh Ingham fir Stafford. Thank you again and we would recommend to family and friends with out a shadow of doubt.

Working for her is like for every single piece she need to rate you 1 to 4 and to work out the average and she is good at finding you a new piece for things that you need to work on.She is a patient teacher and is cover your things that you need including theory and technique.

Karen has been an amazing piano teacher for both of my daughters. She is kind, patient, and has such a lovely way of making lessons fun and engaging while still challenging them to improve. It’s been wonderful to see how much their confidence and love for music have grown under her teaching. We’re so grateful for her dedication, encouragement, and the positive impact she’s had on both girls.

I have been attending lessons with Karen for a few months now. I am a beginner and was nervous but excited to start! Karen is a wonderful teacher, she puts me at ease and guides me at a pace that suits me. She is a real professional and I enjoy every lesson, as I progress along with my piano journey.
