Selling as spares or repair , Note the car as 187000 miles on the clock however we had the engine replaced a couple of years ago now due to the timing belt snapping on the original one . Replacement engine bought from a vw breakers , have all the receipts and the engine had 72000 miles on it at the time , fitted with a new clutch kit and timing belt of course before fitting . Fortunately my daughter who owns the car had a horse riding accident September 2024 and couldn't drive for over a year hence the car was stood up for a year , I did fire it up at least once a month and ran it for bit , anyway after my daughter getting her fit to drive again we put the car back on the road needing a new mot , the car only failed on a engine management light on and a headlight adjuster had snapped ( fixed that ) reference the engine management light on ? We had the car pluged in at the garage and it shows dpf clean / regeneration , we 1st tried a dpf cleaner fuel additive this didn't work , 2nd took it to a diesel specialist for a a regeneration this also didn't work due the engine management light on the car and it was in limp mode so couldn't meet the revs needed to complete it , 3rd thing we did was try some dpf foam cleaner , worst thing I ever did , I did manage to get the engine management light off and took it for its retest and passed (12 months mot ) however after a few days of driving it around the engine ran away with its self and back into limp mode aswell running really lumpy with a new tapping sound , back to the diesel specialist , where he convinced me the tapping was a injector so he took them all out and bench tested them number 1 injector was refurbished £160 number 2 injector we had to buy new £260 aswell as the labour , to find out the car still has the tapping ( would say top end ) and is still in limp mode , undriveable due to when it gets upto temperature it fills and sounds like something is going to snap , I can't justify spending any more time and money on this car hence the sale , would be sold as seen for the above reasons, good points does 50 mpg ,only £20 a year road tax , 12 months mot
