VERY RARE AND UNUSUAL MK1 SWALLOW TAIL OWNED BY A MK1 ENTHUSIAST FOR 40 YEARS THAT HAS HAD TENS OF THOUSANDS OF POUNDS SPENT ON RESTORATION AND MODIFICATION OVER THE YEARS BY DEUTCHE DOKTORS AND COMES WITH A PHOTO ALBUM DETAILING THE WORK. THE SHELL WAS FULLY STRIPPED AND ANY REPAIRS NEEDED CARRIED OUT, IT WAS THEN FULLY RESPRAYED, RE-TRIMMED, FITTED WITH A 1.4 FUEL INJECTION ENGINE, 5 SPEED GEARBOX, POWER STEERING, FULL EARLY GTi DASH, STEERING WHEEL, ALLOYS, ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION ETC ETC. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES FINE BUT HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD FOR A FEW YEARS NOW SO A DEGREE OF RECOMMISSIONING WOULD BE REQUIRED AND THERE ARE SOME PAINT DEFECTS ON VARIOUS PANELS BUT THEY DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE OVERALL APPEARANCE.
