Description
The car currently starts, runs and drives, but is being sold strictly as a spares/repair/project vehicle due to an ongoing cooling system/engine issue.
The interior is in excellent condition for its age, with some age-related marks to the exterior.
Recent work carried out:
* Cylinder head removed and professionally skimmed after being found to be slightly warped
* New head gasket and head bolts fitted
* New timing chain kit
* New water pump
* New thermostat
* New manifold gaskets
* Fresh oil and oil filter
* Cooling system bled
* Vehicle subsequently road tested
Unfortunately, the car has since developed a further cooling system issue. Following inspection, my mechanic suspects there may be a crack in the coolant jacket within the cylinder head, which is causing the cooling system to boil/pressurise.
I have been quoted £730 for a replacement cylinder head, head gasket and bolts, with no labour charge. However, I have decided not to invest any further money into the car and would rather sell it to someone who wants to repair it, use it for parts or take on the project.
