A versatile and simply converted Volkswagen Caddy Maxi C20 TDI that's equally at home as a compact camper, day van, bike hauler, festival van or practical everyday vehicle.

I've owned and enjoyed this van as a simple, flexible micro-camper rather than a fully fitted campervan. The layout has been designed to maximise usable space, meaning it can comfortably carry bikes, outdoor gear and luggage during the day, then convert into a sleeping platform for weekends away.

Rather than being a fixed camper conversion, this van has been set up to remain practical. The rear layout can easily accommodate bicycles, camping equipment, paddleboards, hiking gear or larger items when needed.
The simple fold-out design creates a comfortable sleeping platform, while also doubling as a practical shelf and storage system, allowing bikes, camping equipment and larger items to be transported underneath.

The van starts, runs and drives well and has been reliable during ownership. It's in good overall condition for its age and mileage, but it isn't a showroom vehicle. There are some minor age-related cosmetic marks and wear consistent with an 11-year-old van, including 2 small holes on the drivers seats, and some minor paint chips. None of these affect its use are reflected in the price.

If you're looking for a fully fitted camper with kitchen, sink and heater, this probably isn't the van for you. However, if you're looking for a reliable, low-mileage Volkswagen that offers a comfortable place to sleep, plenty of storage, charging facilities and the flexibility to adapt to different adventures, it's a fantastic option.
