Woman in her 50s looking for a travel partner for 1-2 weeks trip to Portugal.

☺️I am a 55 year old woman, living in South London looking to travel to Portugal in January (to get away from the miserable UK weather which is, for me, always worst in January) and to sort out some quick business matters and also take a break. Looking for a relaxing holiday, with good company and conversation and sightseeing different areas. (January is flexible but preferred, as I can do another month in 2026 if suits both me and travel partner.)

☺️ I am looking for a purely platonic female or male travel buddy/partner: someone who is primarily responsible/reliable, decent and respectful. This would be ideal for someone who is lively(even a little quirky and interesting), chatty, tee-total, mature person that would be happy to do a few things on their own, during the short time that I need to take care of some business issues. It would be good if the person could drive and would be willing to drive, although this is not a deal breaker, as we can always take public transport if both of us prefer not to drive. I speak Portuguese and I have been to Portugal before, so getting around in Portugal should be easier. I would be equally happy to consider going on a road trip adventure by car from here to Portugal as I have never done that before and it has been a very long time since I went on a road trip. This is a great option for someone out there who has a car, loves driving and will be willing to drive throughout the road trip. Each of us would cover our own costs but share on costs like car hire if we both agree to go down this route. Or share fuel costs if the road trip option was a go!

☺️I have met some amazing people in the past through Gumtree where we travelled together and became good friends or travel buddies. So I would like to do it again. I am placing this ad well ahead of time, for practical (and safety) reasons because I would like to get to know the person I am travelling with beforehand and make arrangements that suit us both.
