Waste Van Driver

Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining a high standard of service. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a van to transport goods to various locations. Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to scheduled routes. Conduct pre–trip and post–trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes. Assist in loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients upon delivery. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times. Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Valid commercial driving licence is required, with a clean driving record. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with flatbed vehicles is a plus. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and customers. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping. Ability to lift heavy items as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed during loading and unloading activities. You must be ok with very early starts and have a strong stomach as at times you will be dealing with clinical waste
