About the Role
one of my local government clients is recruit a proactive and empathetic Housing Register, Allocations and Temporary Accommodation Assistant.
This is a key role supporting the borough’s Housing Register and Allocations service. You’ll be involved in placing households into temporary accommodation, facilitating efficient move-on into permanent housing (including social and intermediate options), and providing responsive, tailored advice to residents.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily placements into temporary accommodation
*
Promote and support move-on to permanent housing options
*
Maintain and update the Housing Register and transfer list
*
Assist in resolving accepted homeless cases
*
Offer advice and guidance to residents on housing options
*
Make referrals and signpost to relevant support services
*
Ensure compliance with statutory housing responsibilities
*
Contribute to team targets and casework objectives
Requirements:
*
Experience working in housing, homelessness, or a local authority setting
*
Strong understanding of housing legislation and temporary accommodation
*
Excellent client-facing and casework skills
*
Ability to manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment
*
A proactive, problem-solving attitude
