Warwickshire Local Authority | Housing Options Officer Hybrid Position

We're supporting a Warwickshire Local Authority who are looking for an experienced Housing Options Officer to help slot in to a particularly busy period within their team.

The team covers a mix of rural villages and market towns, so the cases are varied and often complex, with a big focus on early prevention and sustainable outcomes.

This is a hybrid position with just 2 days a week onsite, paying £28-£30 per hour depending on experience.

What the role involves

You'll be joining a well‑established Housing Solutions team that takes a hands‑on, people‑first approach. Your work will directly support residents who are at risk of homelessness across the county. Expect to be:

Speaking with residents face‑to‑face and over the phone to complete homelessness assessments and triage

Making clear, confident Section 184 decisions in line with current legislation

Putting together realistic, tailored PHPs that reflect the challenges of Warwickshire's housing market

Explore and secure private rented sector options, negotiating effectively with landlords and agents

Collaborating with colleagues in Temporary Accommodation, Allocations, and Prevention to keep cases moving

Keeping organised, detailed case notes that are ready for audit at any timeContract Details

£28-£30 per hour (umbrella)

Initial 3‑month contract, with a strong chance of extension

Hybrid - 2 days onsite in Warwickshire

Someone who:

Has recent Local Authority experience managing statutory homelessness cases

Knows the HRA 2017 and Housing Act 1996 Part VII well

Is comfortable working independently within a busy service

Enjoys finding practical, prevention‑led solutions

Can adapt to the mix of rural and urban housing challenges that Warwickshire bringsInterested?
