GENERAL FACTORY OPERATIVES

Location: Haverhill, Suffolk

Pay: 13.30 per hour

Overtime: 19.95 per hour for qualifying overtime

Hours: Various, generally between 6:00am and 6:00pm

Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including weekends

Job Type: Temporary ongoing, with potential for permanent opportunities

THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for General Factory Operatives to join a busy production and warehouse environment in Haverhill.

This is a hands–on role working within a chilled/cold working environment, involving general production, packing, warehouse and cleaning duties.

The workload can vary depending on business requirements, so candidates must be comfortable working at pace, following instructions and being flexible across different areas of the operation.

DUTIES

Duties may include:

General production and factory duties Picking, packing and preparing products Loading and unloading materials and finished products Sorting and handling products Carrying out basic quality checks Working to production and performance targets Following company procedures and health & safety requirements Wearing the required PPE Cleaning and maintaining work areas Processing waste Following a clean–as–you–go approach Working across different areas of the operation as required Other general duties as required

HOURS & AVAILABILITY

There are various shifts and working days available, generally falling between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

Candidates must:

Be available to work a minimum of 4 days per week Be prepared to work 5 days out of 7 Have weekend availability Be flexible regarding working days and shift times Understand that hours and shifts are dependent on business requirements and cannot be guaranteed Be willing to work additional hours during busy periods where required

PAY & OVERTIME

Basic rate: 13.30 per hour

Qualifying overtime: 19.95 per hour

Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the basic hourly rate once the applicable overtime threshold has been met.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This role is based in a chilled/cold working environment. Candidates must be comfortable working in cooler temperatures for extended periods and wearing the appropriate protective clothing and PPE. Strict hygiene, food safety and personal presentation standards apply.

Previous factory, production, warehouse or packing experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training will be provided.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This is a temporary ongoing position, with potential for permanent opportunities for suitable candidates. Due to the nature of the operation, workloads can vary and hours cannot be guaranteed. Candidates must therefore be comfortable with a flexible working arrangement.
