Are you an experienced Environmental Protection Officer looking for a flexible part-time contract?

We’re working with a local authority in Staffordshire that is looking to strengthen its Environmental Protection team with an experienced officer. The role will have a particular focus on contaminated land, planning consultations and statutory nuisance, alongside wider Environmental Protection duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Reviewing and responding to planning applications and consultations

Providing technical advice relating to contaminated land

Assessing land contamination reports, investigations and remediation proposals

Investigating statutory nuisance and wider environmental protection complaints

Providing professional advice to colleagues, developers and other stakeholders

Supporting the wider Environmental Protection team where requiredWhat We’re Looking For:

Previous Environmental Protection experience, ideally within a local authority

Strong knowledge and practical experience of contaminated land

Confidence handling planning consultations and responses

Experience investigating statutory nuisance

Ability to manage a caseload independently and hit the ground runningWhat’s on Offer:

Part-time, flexible working pattern

Predominantly remote working with occasional office attendance
