Job Title: HR Advisor (Business Partnering)

Rate: £20.52 per hour (Umbrella Rate)

Reports To: Senior HR Advisor

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated HR Advisor to join our team within a dynamic HR Business Partnering environment. This role will play a pivotal part in delivering a comprehensive HR advisory service that aligns with our Force’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for providing support across various HR functions and assisting in the implementation of enhanced HR practices and procedures.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and solutions-driven professional with excellent analytical skills, who can work independently and collaboratively to drive results and provide high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Advisory Service: Provide HR advisory support that complies with Force policies and employment legislation, specifically focusing on HR Business Partnering Shared Services.

Project Involvement: Undertake HR-related projects, including research, analysis, and report writing, and collaborate with HR colleagues to implement streamlined HR services and practices.

Staffing and Establishment Management: Monitor staffing levels, maintain accurate records in PeopleSoft, and ensure data is compliant with relevant policies and the Data Protection Act.

Work Commissioning: Track work commissioned from Shared Services, ensuring quality assurance, compliance, and timely completion.

Resourcing Support: Prepare for and attend resourcing meetings, act as Chair in the absence of the HR Business Partner, and ensure all actions are completed.

Succession Planning & Forecasting: Assist with resource planning and support succession planning activities in collaboration with business and resource management shared services.

Induction & Recruitment Support: Liaise with recruitment teams to confirm staff postings and assist with the induction of new staff.

Flexible Working & Job Evaluation: Receive and record flexible working requests, job evaluations, and ensure all required actions are processed accordingly.

Key Requirements:

Experience & Qualifications:

Certificate in Personnel Practice or equivalent qualification (essential).

Proven ability to analyse and produce statistical information with a high level of numeracy.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR IT systems (PeopleSoft experience preferred).

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

A solid understanding of budget management and its implications (desirable).

Additional Competencies:

Ability to interact effectively with staff, senior managers, and the public.

A proactive approach with a focus on providing high-level customer service and clear communication.
