TRAINEE FLOOR SANDING OPERATIVE / FLOORING ASSISTANT

South East London

Restore Floor Sanders is looking for a reliable person to join the business and train in professional wood floor sanding and restoration.

Previous floor sanding experience is not required and full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable, takes pride in their work and genuinely wants to learn a skilled trade.

The role is hands-on and physically demanding and will include:

• Floor preparation

• Operating professional sanding equipment under supervision

• Edging and detailed sanding

• Vacuuming and dust control

• Gap filling and basic floor repairs

• Loading and unloading sanding machinery and equipment

• Keeping customers' homes and working areas clean and organised

The long-term aim is to develop the right person into a skilled floor sanding operative capable of carrying out and eventually running projects independently.

Starting pay is £120–£140 per day depending on experience and ability, with increases as skills and responsibility develop.

Normal working hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm. Any additional time required on site beyond these hours will be paid separately.

Initially around 3 days per week when workload allows, with additional days available during busier periods. Working days will vary depending on the project schedule, and there may be quieter periods during the year.

Most work is carried out across South East London and surrounding areas.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable and punctual

• Practical and willing to learn

• Comfortable with physically demanding work

• Careful and able to work to a high standard

• Respectful when working inside customers' homes

• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a small team

• Interested in learning a skilled trade and progressing within the business

A driving licence is a strong advantage but is not essential.

This is a proper paid role with genuine progression and is not a cash-in-hand labouring position.

Paid trial days will be offered to suitable applicants.
