Allsteel is looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join our team and take responsibility for organising, coordinating and overseeing our steelwork projects from planning through to completion.

This is a key position within the business, working closely with our office team, site operatives, main contractors and other site management teams to ensure our projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards.

We are looking for someone who understands the construction environment, has experience working within the steelwork industry, and is confident managing teams and navigating the day-to-day challenges of busy construction sites.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of our site operations, ensuring our teams have everything they need to carry out their work safely and effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and overseeing Allsteel's site teams and steelwork activities
Liaising professionally with main contractors and site managers
Attending pre-start and ongoing site meetings
Planning and coordinating site activities from mobilisation through to completion
Organising site teams, labour, materials, plant and equipment
Ensuring operatives have the information and resources required to complete their tasks
Working closely with the Allsteel office team to coordinate projects and ensure smooth communication between site and office
Monitoring progress against programme and ensuring works remain on schedule
Working within agreed commercial commitments and project requirements
Identifying and resolving issues on site before they impact programme or cost
Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
Maintaining high standards of health & safety across all site activities
Coordinating with other trades and contractors on busy construction sites
Reporting progress, challenges and requirements back to the office team
Taking ownership of projects and seeing them through to successful completion

About You

We are looking for a hard-working, experienced and organised construction professional who can confidently take control of site operations and lead our teams.

You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment, communicating with different levels of site management and making decisions to keep projects moving.

Essential:

Previous experience in a site management/supervisory role
Experience working within the steelwork/construction industry
Good understanding of construction site procedures
Ability to organise and manage site teams effectively
Strong communication and people-management skills
Ability to work to project programmes and commercial commitments
Strong understanding of health & safety requirements
Ability to build good working relationships with main contractors and site management
CSCS Skilled Worker or Management card

Desirable:

SMSTS qualification
CPCS/NPORS Crane Supervisor qualification
Appointed Person qualification
Experience managing architectural or structural steelwork projects
Experience attending site meetings and coordinating with main contractors
Strong understanding of drawings, programmes and project documentation
