Property Maintenance Operative

Description

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Property Maintenance Operative to support the maintenance and upkeep of residential rental properties across Southampton.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive annual salary, providing an excellent opportunity to join a growing property management team and play a key role in maintaining high standards across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general property maintenance and handyman tasks.
Perform minor repairs including plumbing, painting, carpentry, and basic electrical work where appropriate.
Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, and appliances.
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues reported by tenants.
Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
Replace light fixtures, door handles, locks, and other basic fittings.
Ensure properties are maintained to a high standard and ready for tenant occupancy.
Report major maintenance issues requiring specialist contractors.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with tenants and colleagues.

Requirements

Previous experience in property maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role.
Ability to carry out a wide range of basic repair and maintenance tasks.
Own tools preferred.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
Right to work in the UK.
Must be based in or near Southampton and able to travel to different property locations.

Working Arrangements
