Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with various tools and equipment. As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances and systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Duties

Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and heating systems.
Install & maintenance of ASHP
Conduct thorough inspections of gas installations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Assemble and install pipework using both power tools and hand tools.
Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters to facilitate comprehensive installation projects.
Carry out routine maintenance checks and emergency repairs on gas systems.
Ensure all work is documented accurately and in accordance with company policies.
Engage in heavy lifting when necessary to transport equipment and materials.
Take ownership of jobs and take appropriate steps to resolve any issues caused in a timely fashion.

Skills

Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools essential for gas engineering tasks.
Strong systems knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Ability to plumb various systems maintaining a high level of quality as required by project specifications.
Experience in soldering techniques relevant to gas installations.
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations.
Capability to assemble components accurately for efficient operation of gas and heating systems.
Driving skills are advantageous for transporting equipment between job sites.
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during work hours.

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience within the plumbing and heating industry and should hold the following qualifications.

SVQ / NVQ Level 3 Plumbing and Heating

Minimum of Gas Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, DAH1, CPA1.

Unvented G3 Qualification

Oftec 101, BPEC Heat Pump or equivalent
