Freelance CAD Joinery Designer – Immediate Start Location: Remote / UK-based preferred Contract: Freelance Industry: Bespoke Joinery & Cabinet Making
We are seeking an experienced Freelance CAD Joinery Designer to support our growing workload of bespoke residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will be fully conversant with all aspects of joinery and cabinet-making, with the ability to translate design intent into precise production-ready drawings and high-quality client-facing renders.
Key Responsibilities Produce accurate, detailed CAD working drawings suitable for workshop production, including cutting lists, sections, assemblies, and hardware details.
Create 3D visualisations/renders for client approval.
Interpret architectural/ID drawings and develop them into manufacturable joinery solutions.
Work closely with the project team to ensure all details meet specifications, material requirements, and site constraints.
Ensure drawings adhere to best practices in bespoke joinery construction.
Requirements Proven experience in bespoke joinery design and cabinet-making detailing.
Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and construction techniques.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar (specify preferred software if needed).
Ability to produce high-quality renders (e.g. KeyShot, SketchUp + V-Ray, etc.).
Excellent communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience with site surveys and templating.
Understanding of CNC requirements and optimisation.
Knowledge of ironmongery, fixings, and joinery hardware systems.
