A complete and unmolested example of a Mark-3 MR2, registered in September 2000 as an 'MR2 Hardtop' from factory - a modern classic roadster in lovely condition for the age.

Equipped with black leather interior in fantastic condition, leather steering wheel and gear knob, remote central locking, air con, original 15 inch Toyota alloy wheels in gunmetal grey, alarm & immobiliser, aluminium touring pedals, anti-buffeting wind deflector, electric retracting aerial, original optional MR2 tailored floor mats, electric mirrors, electric windows and the original Toyota CD-Radio with cassette player comes with its original cover plate.

Most importantly it comes with the original Hart Top which was specified from factory (youll find it is registered as an MR2 Hart Top on HPI searches) - Also included is the genuine fitting kit and accessories in the original leather case.



A cherished example:

Comes with the full Toyota book pack with the original owners manuals in the leather wallet, including the fully stamped service booklet. Also comes with both original Toyota keys, spare wheel and jack kit and the locking wheel nut key.



Has a thick folder of invoices documented in chronological order including the original bill of sale for £21,210.92 - A very honest car with lovely touches of it's own history such as the Toyota Jemca (the supplying dealer) number plates still mounted on the car and letters from the Toyota Dealer principal.

Despite the minuscule mileage this MR2 has done annually, there is Full Toyota Main dealer service history up to 2009 comprising of 8 Toyota services, with 7 independent services thereafter.



Current MOT is until August 2026 however happy to put it through a new one for the owner as all previous advisories have also been addressed. Recent work includes brakes, tyres, suspension, battery and recent service, reconditioning the underside and suspension components with new protective underbody paint.

Condition:

I would describe the condition as excellent for its age with just a few superficial marks to the bodywork, evident of its two decades as a millennial sports car. None of the imperfections 'jump out' or detract from the overall appearance or usability and as you can see from the photos, she still looks glorious. The interior similarly has minimal wear which is commensurate with the low mileage. All the electrics and functions still operate correctly, even the retractable aerial goes up and down smoothly..



The Drive:

The Mark 3 MR2 Roadster was the final iteration of the Toyota MR2 ever made and as such, for those in the know it was no surprise that it was recently featured in Hagerty's Top 10 UK cars predicted to 'soar in value'. Thanks to it's mid-engined layout and quirky boot space, the MR2 sold in scarce numbers compared to it's rival from Mazda, making the MR2 Roadster an even rarer sight on roads today.

For driving purists, there are few cars that offer the dynamics of a mid-engined, rear wheel drive sports car, with most sporting a Porsche, Lotus or Ferrari badge. At just 965 kilos, being strapped into a Toyota MR2 around a mountain pass is the nearest experience to a thoroughbred Lotus Elise, at just a fraction of the price. The steering is pin-sharp, the chassis has a wonderful neutrality to it making it predictable but fun at all speeds, and hearing the engine noise build from behind you whilst seeing the central tachometer needle crescendo to 6500rpm - it is pure driving fun. With just 140hp and 5 manual gears to play with, you can really enjoy all the MR2 has to offer as a two seater roadster, without doing silly speeds!
