Description
This is a large, sturdy, vintage, wooden, joiner's toolchest or strongbox.
Purchased 56 years ago from a retired cabinet-maker, who made it for himself many years before that. It could be used as a toolchest or a strongbox.
It's very well constructed from 1 inch thick pine with steel straps screwed on the corners for extra strength. There are large steel hinges securing the lid, with a hasp and staple fitted on the front, so it can be securely padlocked.
The outside measurements are 26 in long x 12 in wide x 9 in deep (+ the feet). The sides are approx 1 in thick.
Although it is very thick it has always been kept dry so it's relatively light when empty.
In excellent condition.
