Hays Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Preston to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community and make a real difference to pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education.

The successful candidate will support Year 6 pupils academically, socially and emotionally as they prepare for SATs and their transition to secondary school.

Your new role

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support teaching and learning within a Year 6 classroom.

Deliver targeted interventions to small groups and individual pupils.

Assist pupils with varying abilities to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Support preparation for SATs and end-of-key-stage assessments.

Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school staff.

Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will:

Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.

Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills.

Be patient, adaptable and passionate about supporting children's learning.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).What you'll get in return
