Year 1 Graduate Teaching Assistant

Do you want focused Year 1 classroom experience before applying for teacher training? Could you deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support that helps pupils make rapid progress in phonics, writing, and number?

*** Year 1 Graduate Teaching Assistant

*** Immediate start until July 2026

*** £81 - £101 per day

*** ‘Good’ 3-form entry primary school, Wolverhampton

*** 1:1 and small group support in Year 1

The Role:

Support Year 1 pupils through short, purposeful interventions and in-class help. Requirements

• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.

• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.

• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

• Desire to work in education/with children – Strong interest in KS1 and pupil progress.

• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.

The School:

This ‘Good’ 3-form entry primary in Wolverhampton is inclusive, well organised, and ambitious for every child. You’ll join a collaborative Year 1 team with shared resources, clear routines, and practical coaching to help you make impact quickly.
