Location: Swansea and Carmarthenshire

Pay: £14.25 per hour

Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm

Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time only. No weekends!

What You Could Be Doing

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

‍ Supporting the class teacher with engaging lessons and classroom activities

Providing one-to-one and small-group support

Helping pupils develop their literacy and numeracy skills

Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs, where required

Encouraging communication, confidence and independence

Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning

Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you will need:

At least five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics

Registration with the Education Workforce Council in the appropriate category

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new Enhanced DBS application

A positive, proactive and resilient attitude

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to build rapport with children and young people

A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupils

Reliability, adaptability and a professional approach

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, but applications are also welcomed from individuals with relevant transferable skills from care, coaching, youth work, mentoring, childcare or community support.

Welsh-language skills are welcomed but are not essential for every placement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
