Learning Support Assistant (No Experience Required)

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only, 8:40AM - 3:15PM

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming and supportive school in Bury St Edmunds that is looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. No previous experience is required – full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in education, SEND, care, youth work, or support work.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils both in and out of the classroom. Every day is different, and you'll play a key role in helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities

Support pupils during classroom lessons and learning activities.

Encourage positive behaviour and build students' confidence.

Assist children with their communication, social, and emotional development.

Work one-to-one and with small groups to provide additional support where needed.

Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.

A willingness to learn and develop through training.

Reliability, commitment, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is beneficial but not essential.
