Teaching Assistant - Years 5 & 6

Location: Nuneaton, Coventry, CV10

Weekly Pay Rate: £500 - £525

Start Date: September 2026

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Contract: Long Term with potential for Permanent

Long Term Futures are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a modern, two-form entry primary school in Nuneaton. This long-term role will involve supporting teaching and learning across Years 5 and 6, working closely with class teachers to raise attainment, deliver interventions and support pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

The school is committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing, with excellent facilities, Forest School provision and a supportive senior leadership team. As part of a Multi-Academy Trust, staff benefit from ongoing training and CPD opportunities.

The Role

Support teaching and learning across Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms

Deliver small-group interventions in English and Maths, including SATs preparation

Support pupils with SEND and varying learning needs to access the curriculum

Promote positive behaviour and use effective behaviour management strategies

Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement in learning

Assist with classroom preparation, resources and displays

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers

Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)

Previous experience working within a primary school setting

Experience supporting Upper Key Stage 2 pupils

Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and Year 6 SATs preparation

Experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

A proactive, positive and flexible approach to supporting learning
