Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant – Southampton

Supporting Pupils with SEMH, Autism and behavioural needs

Location: Southampton

Hours: 08:30am – 3:30pm, 5 days a week

Start: April 2026

Long-term position, with the potential to become permanent

We’re seeking dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants to support children within an SEND school in the Southampton area. You should have confidence, empathy and be consistent and fair.

Whether you have a background in care, personal experience, or a passion for helping others—if you bring empathy, patience, and a resilient mindset, this role could be your next step.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or adults with barriers to learning

Clear and concise way of communiocating

Someone resilient, calm and consistent

Understand body language and being proactive in support

A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Willingness to learn and adapt to different needs and learning styles
