Year 3 Teaching Assistant

Location: Hackney

Contract: Term time only

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted support for pupils in Year 3 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Support pupils with academic learning, including literacy, numeracy and access to the wider curriculum

Promote and support emotional regulation, using agreed strategies and interventions

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual support plans

Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, adapting learning as needed

Foster positive behaviour, independence and self-confidence

Build strong, nurturing relationships with pupils to support engagement and wellbeing

Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environmentAbout You

Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs (essential)

A calm, patient and empathetic approach, with a strong understanding of emotional regulation and behaviour support

Ability to support learning effectively across the primary curriculum

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for all pupils

Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEND, or child development are desirable
