At TeacherActive, we’re working closely with a network of primary schools across South Wales. We’re currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in schools across Carmarthen. This may involve 1:1 work with individual pupils or small group interventions, supporting children with a range of needs to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential. This is where you as a skilled Teaching Assistant come in! For the right person this role will result in a full-time long-term placement so availability for full-time work would be ideal!

What we’re looking for from our Teaching Assistant:

A genuine passion for helping children thrive

Experience supporting children with ALN – either 1:1 or in small groups

A positive, can-do attitude

Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches is a real advantage

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff

Whether you’re guiding pupils through one-to-one support or leading small group sessions, your work will play a vital role in helping ALN pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged – and we’ll support you every step of the way.
