Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £95–£115 per day (paid weekly)

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Start Date: September 2025

Some pupils just need that extra bit of guidance to help them feel settled, confident, and ready to learn. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work in a large, vibrant secondary school in Newcastle. You’ll be supporting pupils with a range of needs, from helping them access lessons to encouraging positive learning habits.

What you’ll be doing:

Providing 1:1 and small group support

Adapting learning materials and activities where needed

Helping pupils stay focused and engaged

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

Encouraging independence and celebrating progress

What we’re looking for:

Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting

Patience, empathy, and a good sense of humour

Confidence in building positive relationships

A team player who’s happy to muck in and support wherever needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
