Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assisstant to join our vibrant and inclusive team. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and reach their full potential. The schools offer day and residential provision to students with a diverse range of needs including moderate to severe and complex learning needs, sensory processing difficulties and associated speech, language and communication difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders. As a SEN you will be based inside the classroom supporting students within education. Class sizes are small to ensure the needs of each pupil are met. You will be responsible for supporting their educational, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Support individual pupils or small groups with a range of special educational needs (including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or learning disabilities).

Assist with the development and implementation of EHCPs and behaviour management plans.

Adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs.

Foster a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.

Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and outside professionals.

Monitor and report on pupil progress and well–being.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting).

A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
