Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Oldham

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Start Date: September 2025

Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Contract: Long-term (potential for permanent)

Salary: £90.00 - £115.00 per day (Dependent on Experience)

GSL Education Manchester is proud to be working with a high-achieving secondary school in Oldham to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside teachers, providing vital support to help students thrive.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning in the classroom, provide targeted help to individual students, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teaching and learning across the curriculum

Work with individuals or small groups to aid understanding

Assist with classroom preparation and resource creation

Help manage behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment

Support students with additional learning needs (SEN) where required

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people (school, tutoring, youth work)

Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach

Ability to follow teacher guidance and adapt to different situations

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
