Teaching Assistant – Nursery (Early Years) | Chingford

Location: Chingford, East London

Start Date: ASAP / October 2025

Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time and Supply

About the Role

Destination Education is currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Chingford. This role is based within the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting, supporting children aged 3–5 in their first steps of education. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and early years practitioners to create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment where children can explore, play, and learn with confidence.

As a Nursery TA, you will help deliver engaging, play-based learning activities that support children’s communication, language, and social development. You will also assist in observing and tracking progress in line with the EYFS framework, ensuring each child receives the individual attention and care they need. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and wants to make a lasting impact during the most important stage of a child’s learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher and EYFS team in delivering high-quality early years education.

Assist in planning and leading play-based activities that encourage curiosity and independence.

Provide 1:1 or small group support for children who may need extra guidance.

Help promote positive social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and early communication skills.

Contribute to the setting’s caring, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

Maintain a safe and tidy classroom, following all safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.The Ideal Candidate

Experience working within Nursery or EYFS settings (school or private nursery).

A warm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting young children.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and children.

A genuine passion for early years education and helping children develop a lifelong love of learning.

Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare or Early Years Education are highly desirable.What Destination Education Offers
