SEND Teaching Assistant – Newham

Are you looking for a new position as a SEND Teaching Assistant in Newham. If so, this may be the perfect position for you. Pertemps Education is working alongside a 2-form entry primary school who are seeking to appoint an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support students of primary age.

This will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately till the end of the academic year. There will be an opportunity to go permanent upon review. The daily rate will be between £100 to £110 depending on your experience.

About the school:

A welcoming primary academy based in Newham as part of a multi-academy trust

Caters for children aged 3 to 11, from Nursery to Year 6, with a 2-form entry structure

Has space for around 630 pupils, with a current roll of approximately 420 to 450

Includes a specialist provision for up to 14 pupils with PMLD

Focused on inclusion, wellbeing, and personalised support for every child

The most recent Ofsted inspection rated it Good overall, with Outstanding Early Years provision

Committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and ambitious learning environment for all pupils

Key responsibilities:

Able to work across KS1 in both Year 1 and Year 2

Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

Assisting students with Autism and/or PMLD

Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption

Providing feedback to teachers and parents

The ideal candidate:

Can work full-time, 5 days a week during term time

Can work from 08:30 AM to 03:30 PM

Have experience working with students with a range of SEND

Be enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential

Comfortable working as part of a team and can form relationships
