SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Islington

Full-time | Term Time Only | £90-£101 per day (PAYE)

A friendly and nurturing one-form entry primary school in Islington is looking to appoint an experienced and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025. This is a long-term, full-time role ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs.

Key Details:

Start Date: September 2025

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Hours: 08:30am - 3:45pm

Rate: £90 - £101 per day (PAYE)

Contract: Term time only - Long-term

Role Responsibilities:

Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for children in Reception and Year 1 with Autism

Delivering both in-class support and interventions outside the classroom focused on learning, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour regulation

Collaborating closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure individual needs are met

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with Autism

A calm, caring, and proactive approach to supporting young learners

Strong skills in managing behaviour and promoting emotional regulation

The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
