Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to provide personalised support across the school. The role will involve working with pupils who may have a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and speech and language needs.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.

Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through a calm and consistent approach.

Adapt activities and learning resources to meet individual needs.

Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence and independence.

Work alongside teachers and other professionals to implement individual support strategies.

Support pupils within a safe, inclusive and nurturing specialist environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who:

Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.

Has experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties or complex needs.

Is confident providing 1:1 support and managing challenging behaviour.

Has a patient, nurturing and resilient approach.

Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Is committed to supporting every pupil's individual development.
