SEN Tutor (Home–Based Tuition)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to provide high–quality, personalised tuition and support to students with additional needs in their homes. This role is ideal for someone patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Role Responsibilities

Deliver tailored one–to–one tuition sessions in core subjects, adapted to individual learning needsSupport students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and learning difficultiesWork closely with students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), following targets and recommended strategiesBuild trusting and positive relationships with students and familiesUse creative and flexible teaching approaches to engage learners who may have struggled in mainstream educationMonitor progress and provide session feedback where requiredTravel to students' homes to deliver face–to–face tuitionRequirements

Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or young people with SENExperience delivering tuition, teaching, mentoring, or therapeutic supportStrong understanding of different learning needs and behaviour management strategiesExperience working with EHCPs is essentialComfortable working independently within students' homesFull UK driving licence and access to transport preferredFlexible availability during school hoursMinimum commitment of 10 hours per weekDesirable QualificationsPGCE and/or QTSSEN qualifications or specialist trainingExperience working with students outside of mainstream education settingsAdditional
