The Opportunity

We are working with a specialist SEN school in Brampton that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a highly rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with diverse SEN needs.

Assist teachers in adapting and delivering lessons to meet individual needs.

Support pupils with personal care needs, where required.

Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive strategies.

Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom and wider school setting.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and families to support pupil progress.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.

Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH is highly desirable.

A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to adapt and remain calm in challenging situations.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being.
