SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Andover

Salary Scale: £82.80 to £100 per day

Start Date: September 2025

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Andover.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role involves providing dedicated support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work alongside class teachers and the school’s SENCo to help pupils access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant role include:

Working one-to-one or in small groups with pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties

Supporting the development of individual education plans (IEPs)

Adapting classroom activities and materials to suit individual needs

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being

Building trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with SEND (in school, care, or voluntary settings)

Calm, adaptable, and empathetic nature

Genuine desire to support inclusive education

Confidence in working with pupils with special needs

A strong interest in inclusive education and supporting children with additional needs

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.

Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
