Psychology Graduate - SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Royston / Meldreth, Hertfordshire

Salary: £22,996-£25,068 per annum (actual salary, depending on experience)

Hours: Full Time | Term Time Only | Monday-Friday | 8:30am-4:30pm

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Please note: Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK and be resident in the UK on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals, supporting children and young people aged 6-19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and SEMH.

Your Responsibilities

Support students in the classroom and throughout the school day.

Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support.

Encourage communication, confidence, emotional wellbeing and independence.

Help students engage positively with learning and daily activities.

Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment.

Provide personal care where required.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.

About You

We are looking for graduates who are:

Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Interested in developing a career in psychology, therapy, education, mental health or social care.

Patient, resilient, compassionate and willing to learn.

Confident communicators and effective team players.

Motivated to gain practical experience within a specialist setting.

Essential: GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent.
