Description

SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) – Camden

Location: Camden, London

Salary: £90–£100 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Start Date: 8 September 2026

Teach Now is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) to join a supportive primary setting in Camden from September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands that successful SEN support is about more than completing tasks – it is about building trust, creating consistency and helping pupils become confident, independent learners.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD), you will work closely with pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 who require additional support with communication, learning, sensory regulation and social interaction.

The role will include:

Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support

Using visual timetables, structured routines and appropriate communication strategies

Supporting emotional and sensory regulation

Adapting classroom activities alongside the class teacher and SENCO

Encouraging independence, confidence and positive peer relationships

Monitoring progress and contributing to pupil support plans

We are looking for:

Previous experience supporting children with ASD/autism in a school or specialist setting

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Good understanding of safeguarding and SEND practice

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete one

Right to work in the UK

This SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) role would suit an experienced TA who wants a long-term position where they can become an important part of a child’s school experience.
