Job Title: SEN Primary Teacher

Location: Copper Fields School, Gunnislake, PL18 9EH

Salary: Up to GBP39,500.00 per annum dependent on experience ( not pro rata )

Hours: 40.5 hours per week Monday 8.30am-5.00pm Tuesday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm

Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

Start: January 2026

About the Role

As an SEN Primary Teacher, you'll do so much more than teach. You'll build confidence, spark curiosity, and help children discover their strengths in a safe, nurturing environment where every child is valued.

You'll design learning experiences tailored to each pupil's individual journey - guiding them academically, socially, and emotionally as they grow in confidence and independence.

You'll:

Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that inspire learning and celebrate progressTeach and support pupils with a range of SEN needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and complex profilesAdapt lessons to meet individual EHCP targets and developmental needsUse a variety of teaching approaches and resources to engage diverse learnersAssess and monitor pupil progress, celebrating both academic and personal achievementsFoster emotional resilience, communication, and independenceCollaborate with therapists, teaching assistants, and other professionalsBuild strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to create consistent supportWho We're Looking For

You are:

A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent)Passionate about inclusive education and supporting children with autism and complex needsA creative, reflective practitioner who inspires curiosity and joy in learningFlexible, resilient, and committed to continuous improvementConfident in building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleaguesExperienced - or eager to develop - within SEN or alternative provision settingsDedicated to promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour supportAt Copper Fields, you'll be part of a supportive community that values creativity, compassion, and your journey just as much as our pupils'.

Copper Fields School provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 60 pupils aged 4-16, who have a primary need of Autism Spectrum, communication and language and often additional needs.

You'll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit.
