Contract Type: Long-term (Full-time)

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN College in Bermondsey, Southwark. The college provides high-quality, individualised education for young people aged 16–25 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and other associated needs.

The college places strong emphasis on fostering communication, independence, and life skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. As part of the team, you will play a key role in supporting students both within the classroom and across wider college-based activities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with ASD, PMLD, and complex needs

* Assist in the delivery of individualised learning programmes and therapy sessions

* Support students with personal care, mobility, and communication needs

* Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and student independence

* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to meet students' educational and care plans

Ideal Candidate:

* Experience working with young people or adults with SEN, particularly ASD and PMLD

* Comfortable supporting students with personal care and medical needs (training provided if needed)

* Proactive, patient, and passionate about inclusive education

* A Teaching Assistant, High Level Teaching Assistant, or experienced SEN Support Assistant background is desirable
