SEN Learning Support Assistant – September Start

Location: North West | Full-time | Start Date: September 2025

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)?

Whether you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, a recent psychology graduate, or someone with a background in care or support work—this role could be the perfect next step in your career.

This inclusive and welcoming all-through SEN school (EYFS–KS5) is looking for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025. You’ll have the opportunity to work with pupils with a variety of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and PMLD.

SEN Learning Support Assistant – What You'll Be Doing:

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Support students aged 3–19 (EYFS to KS5) with diverse and complex needs

Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day

Assist students with autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and physical or sensory impairments (PMLD)

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored learning

Provide personal care support where necessary

Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

What We're Looking For:

To be successful in this SEN Learning Support Assistant role, you should have:

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree (e.g. Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care)

Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or SEN settings

A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

Previous experience with autism, ADHD, PMLD, or personal care is highly desirable
