SEMH Teaching Assistant – Permanent Position

Barnsley | Full-Time, Permanent |

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We’re working in partnership with a fantastic school in the Barnsley area to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a permanent position.

About the role:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting students with additional social and emotional needs. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support on both a 1:1 basis and within small group settings, helping pupils to engage positively in their learning and develop key life skills.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting students with SEMH needs in lessons and around the school.

*

Building positive relationships to promote confidence, independence and resilience.

*

Assisting in the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.

*

Collaborating with teachers, parents and support staff to ensure each child reaches their potential.

We’re looking for someone who:

*

Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional needs.

*

Is patient, empathetic and resilient.

*

Can work effectively as part of a supportive team.

*

Holds relevant qualifications (or equivalent experience).
