Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic and supportive school environment? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to join their team from September.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, offering £100 per day, and is ideally suited to candidates with a strong background in laboratory work.

About the Role:

As the school's Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Science Department to deliver engaging and practical science lessons across KS3 and KS4. Your main responsibilities will include:

Preparing, setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons.

Supporting teachers in the classroom during practical sessions where required.

Ensuring laboratories are clean, organised and comply with health and safety regulations.

Safely storing and disposing of chemicals and other hazardous materials.

Managing stock levels and placing orders for science supplies.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous experience working in a laboratory setting - either within a school or an industry environment.

Be confident handling scientific apparatus, chemicals and safety protocols.

Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.

Show strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach to their work.

Please note: Applications will only be considered from candidates who have demonstrable laboratory experience. This is an essential requirement for the role.
