The Role – School Librarian & Administrator

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Haringey is seeking to appoint a dedicated School Librarian & Administrator to join its team from September on a long–term basis.

As the successful School Librarian & Administrator, you will be responsible for the day–to–day running of the school library, ensuring it remains an organised, welcoming and engaging environment for students and staff. You will support students with accessing books and other learning resources, encourage reading and independent study, maintain library records and assist with research and literacy initiatives.

Alongside your library responsibilities, you will provide general administrative support to the school. This may include maintaining records and databases, preparing documents, responding to enquiries, supporting staff with administrative tasks and assisting with the smooth day–to–day running of the school office and wider administration.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a school or educational setting, with experience in a library, administration or similar role being highly desirable. You will be confident using IT systems, well organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively.

You will be approachable, proactive, reliable and committed to creating a positive environment where students are encouraged to develop their literacy, research skills and love of reading.
